Modularity as a Way of Living

SYMATTI modular grid unifying kitchen, wardrobe and shelving in one interior

A home outlives every plan made for it. Children arrive, work moves home, parents move in. We build for that uncertainty with a single tool: the grid.

One grid, many rooms

Every SYMATTI system — kitchen, wardrobe, shelving, bath — is dimensioned on one modular grid. A 600-millimetre rhythm runs through all of it. This sounds like an engineer's obsession until you see what it buys you: a wardrobe door aligns with the kitchen tall unit across the hallway; shelving continues the datum of the worktop; rooms separated by corridors share one quiet order.

From kitchen to wardrobe

Because the grid is shared, components travel. A shelf module detailed for the study can be re-hung in the dressing room. Interior fittings — drawers, rails, trays — are interchangeable across systems. Materials are shared too, so an addition made in ten years will match what we install today: the same oak, the same bronze glass, the same stone from the same quarry bed.

Built to change

Modularity is often sold as convenience. We think of it as ethics. A system that can be reconfigured is a system that does not get demolished. When your life changes, a SYMATTI interior changes with it — modules move, extend, subdivide. The most sustainable kitchen is the one you never have to replace. That is modularity as a way of living.
